Why Choose Dentures at Chatswood Dental Centre?

Convenient and comparatively affordable, dentures are still the most popular option for replacing teeth. Modern dentures look more natural than those of the past, but their quality depends on the skill of the dentist and technicians involved in their creation.

At Chatswood Dental Centre, it’s our goal to help our patients achieve healthy and beautiful smiles. By combining our expertise and quality materials, we can create dentures that are as close to natural teeth as possible, so no one will be able to tell the difference. To find out more or discuss your denture options, call our team today on 02 9412 3805 or schedule an appointment with us.

Who can get dentures?

Dentures can be an option if you’re missing teeth, or if your teeth are too badly damaged or decayed to repair and need to be extracted. The main denture options are:

  • Partial dentures to replace individual teeth or several teeth in a row
  • Full dentures to replace all of your upper or lower teeth
  • Immediate dentures to temporarily replace teeth after an extraction

Missing teeth can cause a number of problems, from difficulties with eating and speech to causing the surrounding teeth to shift. The more teeth are missing, the worse these effects can be, which is why our dentists recommend having them replaced.

Unlike a fixed bridge, dentures are removable and stay in place through suction. They can also be supported by dental implants in the jaw for extra stability, though this involves additional procedures and cost.

What to expect when getting dentures

However many teeth you want to replace, our dentists will take impressions of your mouth and design your dentures to fit perfectly while also complementing your appearance. You can choose the material and shade of your new teeth and preview what your new smile should look like, then your dentures will be custom made by skilled technicians in a dental laboratory.

Once your dentures are ready, our dentists will check that they fit comfortably and send them back to the lab for any adjustments that need to be made. When you receive your final dentures, you may find that they take some time to get used to, but you shouldn’t feel any pain. We’ll advise you about how to care for your dentures and your oral health every day to avoid problems.
