If you’ve ever wondered how celebrities get their naturally white and perfectly proportioned smiles, the answer is often dental veneers. Our dentists are experienced at fitting veneers to address a wide range of aesthetic issues, including tooth stains, misalignment, chips and gaps. Book a cosmetic consultation for veneers today.
At Chatswood Dental Centre, we offer two options for veneers to suit different needs and price ranges: porcelain veneers and composite veneers. Both have their pros and cons and involve different treatment processes.
To be a candidate for veneers, you should have generally good oral health, enough enamel to support the veneers, and not grind or clench your teeth, which can cause veneers to become loose or damaged.
While veneers can address a range of issues, they may not be suitable for teeth that are more severely damaged or misaligned. Depending on the specific concern you want to fix, our dentists may also discuss other options such as teeth whitening, crowns or clear aligners, so you can decide what’s best for you.

Porcelain veneers are a close match to natural tooth enamel, and are more resistant to damage and stains than composite veneers, but they also cost more. Fitting porcelain veneers typically involves two visits to our dental clinic.
To design your custom veneers, our dentists will first trim some enamel from the tooth surface and take impressions of their shape. These will be sent to a dental laboratory where skilled technicians will manufacture your veneers out of a porcelain in a shade best for you.
Once your veneers are ready, our dentists will check that you’re happy with their fit and appearance, make any final adjustments needed, then bond them to the front of your teeth.
Composite veneers are more affordable than porcelain veneers, and they can usually be placed in a single visit. Our dentists apply composite resin directly to the tooth surface and build up the veneer in layers, before sculpting and polishing their surface.
Composite resin is less durable than porcelain, which means more care needs to be taken to avoid damage and discolouration. If your veneers do get worn or damaged, our dentists may be able to restore their shape and appearance by applying new resin or change over to porcelain.
If you’re considering veneers to transform your smile, make an appointment with our cosmetic dentists to discuss your eligibility and options. Why not call us on 02 9412 3805 or book online so we can get started on your smile makeover.
